Tokyo

Date: 16 April 18 to 23 April 18
Degree: Daytime 20 / Night 12 (Season: Spring)
Time: I hr head of SGP

Day 1 (Mon)

Station: Narita Express to Shinjuku (Adult-Yen3190, Child half price)
Duration: Ard 60mins
Useful Website: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2027.html

Finally we reached Tokyo Narita airport after the 8 hours flight that we are asked to wake up at SG time 4am in the sky to have our breakfast!

Ticket: "Car" - stands for Cabin 8, Seat 3B, so wait in front of the designated cabin and the train is very puncture.

At the platform often they have this small wonderful kiosk that sell delicious snack. Eating and drinking on train is allowed too!

So funny don't know how this works.....

Train is here...but cant enter till they clean up

Nice comfy train....
Child is free if does not require a seat but when we are there is not pack at all hmmm a bit regret to buy.

We have arrived Shinjuku -  one of the busiest station! Do note that their 1 exit to another is not near (e.g. South Exit and South East Exit) and is not link like our MRT. You have to get out of the station and walk from outside.

The Famous Ichiran Noodle -

Yi Lan La Mian

I recommended this Ramen to Hubby.....have to wait wait wait. Guess what he like it and although queing.....he still insist eat again on last day back SG!

When you manage to enter the restaurant, You will be greeted with this ordering machine. Select your order and pay through the machine.

Your order ticket will dispense from the machine

Next you are given the above form to select your preference of the noodle e.g.  the noodle texture, richness, chili ect

Noticed this interested seating plan...showing the seat that is available

The restaurant setting is quite small, every seat is partition. Initially we find it a bit difficult sharing food but we met a very kind lady telling us that the partition can be folded!

They will serve through the small window and after all have been served, they will roll down the blind.

The noodle was fantastic......a sure must try when in Tokyo! They have lots of outlets and some is even running on 24hrs. Just google and it will show all outlets.

Time to Check into our Airbnb Room. - 4pm

In Japan all rooms are pathetic small. Staying in apt seem slightly bigger and cheaper. This apt location is superb. 5mins walk to Takashimaya and Shinjuku train station. Directly downstairs is Family mart and 7-11& McD just across the street. However, if I were to return to Tokyo, I will spurge on hotel as without room service/cleaning was bad ....everything I have to wash my own including buying dish detergent no utensil and whole room full of my hair. But the most important point is after the 7days loots......I have to drag my heavy luggage to the train station. The airport direct bus pick up from most hotel. Is still better to take a direct airport bus....as squeezing through the crowd with all the bulky luggage is no joke!

Day 2 (Tue)
DisneySea

Station: Shinjuku - Tokyo - Maihama (55mins)
Take JR Chuo line Rapid Train (19mins) to Tokyo Station
Tokyo Station: Take JR Keiyo Line (15mins)
Useful Website: http://www.hyperdia.com/en/
http://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/access/

Note: There are many lines going to the same station, the only different for "Rapid Train" is certain station is skip so save time. Do look carefully on the board on the upcoming train.

We wake up super early as the DisneySea and DisneyLand both opens at 8.30am and the traveling time is an hour. We use hyperdia to gauge the time and station to train, a must to use in Japan.

We manage to reach around 9am and guess what their first parade actually shoot fireworks early in the morning! The parade was impressive, a must to watch and stay through till night.

Download this app TDR, quite accurate app showing both Disneyland and Sea waiting time for the ride, parade show and even meet n greet.

The entry ticket comes with fast pass. Meaning you do not have to pay extra for fast pass like other countries. In Japan you just scan the QR quote on the ticket and it will dispense the ticket showing the time you have to return for the ride.

Day 3 (Wed)

At the entrance of Disneyland we are not greeted by the usual Mickey iconic landscape. Not very impressive also the electric railway train does not goes round the park unlike HK....so certain area we still need to walk.

In both Disney they have different "cups" for popcorn. And their popcorn also come in different fav like curry, blueberry, chocolate etc. Not that both park sell diff fav so if u miss it don't assume you can find it in the other park.

I also bought this rain cover for stroller. Cant rem how much (ard $30) but it looked cool with the logo. Is raining in the morning and a lot of pp is buying. Oh all these "rain" only out for sale during raining. If u really like quickly buy it once u see as once rain stop they will keep it in store!

Going to Mickey House - Meet & Greet

At first we thought once we get to enter the house that's it.....but his house is sooo huge that I think we saw his garden, kitchen, theater .......

"Q" for sooooo long an hr plus finally we get to see "HIM"

Must stay after the night parade ends 8pm......ard 9pm there will be a short musical lighting outside those merchandise shop when you first enter - IMPRESSIVE

Day 4 (Thur)
Hakone

Station: Take Romancecar fr Shinjuku Station to Hakone Yumoto Station (85mins)
Purchase the Romancecar in advance as need to select seat and time slot. Any Hakone FreePass can travel on Odakyu Limited Express " Romancecar" by simply purchase a limited express ticket (Adult: 2,080 Yen)

FreePass: Can be purchased at any Odakyu Line Station
(For 2days - Adult: 5,140 Yen, Child: free)
Useful Website: https://www.odakyu.jp/english/sightseeing/hakone/
https://www.web-odakyu.com/e-romancecar

This is the FreePass ticket where you can take any transport in Hakone. For child below 7 is free but need to top up a few dollars for the romancecar though we already bought the limited express ticket.

Romancecar is slightly more expensive but the fastest and most comfort way to go Hakone. The toilet in the train is super clean just like taking plane.

 The seat is reversible!

 We reached Hakone Yumoto Station!

 Tozan Train

Is like a Zig Zag Train, very tradition and slow method of transporting. From Yumoto to Gora, it took us 40mins...all the way to last 2nd stop.

 Gora Station

Cable Car to Sounzan Station - 10mins

Don't know is it due to the cooling weather and they didn't turn on the aircon .....it was quite hot inside, cant seem to feel any aircon. Best not to take in Summer....as the cable car was very slow too.

Sounzan Station

Ropeway to Ownkudari Station

Owakudari Station

The famous Black egg.....Belief - increase 7Yrs life. A must to Try

Cold weather eat ice-cream soooo shiok

Ropeway again back to Togendai Station to catch the cruise
Very lucky on the way saw Mt Fuji

Togendai Station
 Lake Ashi Cruise
A 45mins ride back to either Hakone Machi or Moto

Very spacious, total there is 3 deck and with lift!

This is a special cabin - require to pay extra

As we are late for our hotel check in, we decided to alight at Machi & skip the temple walk. At Machi Hakone we took the Tozan Bus -  Express Bus "R" (35mins) back to Hakone Yumoto Station.

From Hakone Yumoto we board the shuttle bus (a white with orange mini van- ard 15mins) at fare 100Yen/trip to our Onsen Hotel - Okada Hotel.

Okada Hotel

The room we book was a tatami room with Onsen bathtub.  I love the room, it was huge and comes with automated toilet bowl that will open and close the cover when it sense you are near. And it also comes with a massage chair! No wonder per night cost $500!

Dinner was served in the room

When you are done with the dinner, simply give them a ring and they will come to cleared the table. When all is done......a guy will ring the door and here comes the guy to make the bed! Ha! I almost make my own bed. Their service was really good!

Besides the in-room Onsen they also have the open area - public Onsen pool but was Male and Female separated. So shiok having outdoor Onsen at cold weather with nice scenery...too bad can't take photo. Glad that Gal gal tried it and also enjoyed it.

We wish we could stay longer but hmmm too expensive plus might be too bored as at Hakone besides Onsen still Onsen....the shops here close early and nothing much entertainment. Which is why their Onsen open till late night or even 24hrs. The later the night the more crowded it is.

 Day 5 (Fri)
Gotemba Premium Outlet - Largest in Japan

We checked out from our cosy hotel and heading to the largest premium outlet in Japan. Took the shuttle bus back to Hakone Yumoto Station switch to Tozan Train (40mins) again to Gora Station. There is a shuttle bus (abt 30-45mins) to the premium outlet. The bus stop is just in front of Hotel Setsugetsuka.

We saw Mt Fuji again when we are in the bus....this time is much clearer and closer. Very Beautiful

Finally reached and it was indeed very huge but too bad nothing to buy. Somehow a bit regret going as we couldn't find any transport to bring us back to Shinjuku till 4pm. The Odakyu Highway Bus bound for Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal (Adult ard 2000Yeh). The bus only available at 4pm and it was waste of time hanging ard when we are done.

Day 6 (Sat)
Tsukiji Fish Market (opens 10am - 1pm, closed on Sunday & some Wednesday)

Take Oedo Subway Line directly from Shinjuku Station to Tsukiji Subway Station.
Duration: 20mins
Official Website: http://www.tsukiji.or.jp/english/
https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3021.html

The food was really fresh and cheap only thing is you have to stress to queue and super crowded with no proper sitting.

On the way to Ginza by foot

At Ginza you can see their building are really posh.....just like our Orchard Rd. Over here if lucky also can see some Japanese Star having meet and greet session.

Shrine: Meiji Jingu
Location: JR Harajuku Station

This is the entrance of the park, the Shine is located inside. About 10-15mins stroll under the shady tree before reaching the Shine.

This is the main entrance of the Shine, just beside the entrance there is a washing area, rem to rinse your mouth before enter.

Happened to witness a Wedding ceremony

Takeshita Dori (Street)
Location: Just opposite JR Harajuku Station

Super crowded area but this place is like our Bugis Street with the "In" up to date fashion and idol goods, very popular among teens. Good to drop by :)

Calbee Titbits Store is here! Fry and eat on the spot.

Look at the people along the street !

Day 7 (Sun)
Mother Farm (opens 9.30am - 5pm from Feb to Nov)

Station: Shinjuku - Soga - Kimitsu (55mins)

Take JR Chuo line Rapid Train (19mins) to Tokyo Station then switch to JR Keiyo Line to Soga Station (the last station) and final switch to JR Uchibo Line to Kimitsu Station - 2hrs

When reach Kimitsu Station, there is a shuttle bus to the Farm (Adult: 700 Yen & Child 240 Yen /trip) - 40mins

Duration: 3hrs

When arrive at the station, you will be greeted by this 3D Cow.
Selfie starts from here.....

Turn left after exit from the station, the Shuttle Bus stop is on the left down from the station escalator. There are clear instruction otherwise just approach the service person.

 Entrance of Mother Farm

An open Farm section with close encounter with the animals!

It is recommended to save their program and catch all the show. A pity we didn't manage to as we are late and miss it.

Pig Race

So cute that the pig really know where to run. We only watch this on TV and now we watching live!

Cow Milking

In Japan everything is so well organize.....no worries you wont be able to "touch" the cow.

Don't know why every ice-cream kiosk I passed all long Q, Jap really love ice-cream

Animal Farm Tour

This Mother Farm is not solely just a farm, it has mini themepark too! With stay and Strawberry Farm. Too bad the Strawberry Farm is close when we are there.

It is recommended to go on the Farm Tour, is different from ours. The tour is very popular so do chose the time slot once you are in from entrance. This is a paid tour, go to the information counter (located on the extreme left of the entrance) to purchase the ticket.

Three extreme huge cow!

Their signature animal - La Ma

Interview with La Ma?

The finale - ended with a how farm dogs help to chase the goat hm.

Small Animals Corner

Our last stop - the small animal corner where you can touch the animals freely. Mainly different breed of rabbits and also guinea pigs.

Basically I quite like this farm and think is worth coming despite the "6 hrs travel - To n fro" if you are animal lovers or have kids whom also love animals. Is not like what I have image, weather is good, come Spring super cooling and the farm is very clean. Every station we go there will be basin with Kire Kire to wash hands. Sanitizer is also provided.

The Farm is huge and with lots of walking. Another option is to take their "bus" - $1Yen / trip.

Day 8 (Mon)
Last Day - Departing

Public Locker

Chose the desire locker size, key in ur pin a receipt will be generated. When retrieving, paid the rental amount;charge by hours.
We had to check out early and we left our luggage at these Public Locker. In Tokyo there are a lot and easy can be found like on street, train station, mall. And all in high demand.

Haneda Airport:
Station: Shinagawa - Haneda (20mins)

Take JR Yamanote line Rapid Train to Shinagawa Station then switch to Keikyu Main Airport Line to Haneda Airport.

We took Train back to Haneda Airport, is nearer but I guess is really wrong choice as it is not an airport train hence, it can get quite crowded and if have lots of luggage you will have difficulties get on plus need to change train so still best to take airport bus.

Finally reach Haneda Airport

These are the food we bought for the 8days at Tokyo.
From Hakone, regret never buy more for the egg cake. The tidbits sold at Owakudari is quite nice, can buy more as you wont find it other place.....only high up the mountain which we wont probably be visiting often.

Ginza Cosy Corner - my fav cake shop. Their cakes are not only appealing on the outside but also very tasty and most imp is not expensive. The only thing I don't like is it is located inside the train station, so to speak I need a train ticket to get in and buy.

                                        Bake Sweet Potato!!!

Try this at their 7-11, 1 star Michelin cup noodle!
7-11 House brand

Convenience Store: This is a must to try too! Their omisushi change daily and is very fresh. You will really taste the ingredient as stated. I like best is Newdays, more varieties.
