USA - Los Angeles June 2012 (Part 1)

Day 1 - Los Angeles (Anaheim)
Temperature: 14 - 28 degree
Time Difference: 15hrs behind Singapore time (Apr - Oct)
16hrs behind Singapore time (Nov - Mar)

Finally we arrived at LA airport after travelling for 19 hours on the plane. SQ was good we ate & drank whatever we can find on board but entertainment wise so so.  The airport security at USA was tight. For Singaporean entering to USA have to applied for ESTA and remember to print it out as the custom officer will ask you tonnes of questions and if you are not firm with your answer or forget to print your ESTA, they will invite you for "coffee" =O
1 good thing about their custom is for 1 family we only need to fill up 1 custom card.

According to the tour guide LA is the top busiest airport in the world and indeed we waited on plane for 15 -20 mins before the gate was ready. We checked into Holiday Inn Buena Park Hotel after an hour drive from the airport.

Nice hotel, room was clean and neat and best Free wifi in the room. USA is an environmental friendly place as such, kettle and fridge will not be available in most of the hotel.

Immediately after we checked into the hotel, threw our luggage in the room and went to "rackie" the surrounding. Weather was good, cooling but the sun was so glaring that you almost unable to open your eyes without your sunglasses. Though the sun looked friendly but actual fact they are not so sun block (with super high SPF, prefer 70 and above), hat and umbrella is definitely a Must!

The whole LA looked peaceful and quiet and Target Hypermarket seem to be the most interesting place out of all. The items they sell ranging from food to clothing even household items as well so long you can name it. Just like our Carrefour but their fridge sections were fantastic all motion sensor. Once the detector senses any movement it will turn on all the lights in the fridge and after sometimes it will turn off to save electricity.

We found a nice restaurant selling very nice pizza. Traditional bake!

USA is a tipping country unless dinning at fast food restaurant otherwise we would need to tip the place. Tipping ranging from 15% - 25% and sales tax is chargeable upon purchase of goods or service. Price indicated on tag does not include sale tax of around 10% (depend on the state) and is non-refundable.

Day 4 - Anaheim - Las Vegas : Tanger Factory Outlet @ Barstow

Today we arrived at every woman's favourite place - Factory Outlet = Shopping Time !!! I still remembered the tour guide asking us to control our shopping so we don't get our wallet burn and 1 of our tour mates hubby said his wife is waiting to get her wallet burn Haha. The ride from our hotel in LA to the factory outlet was approximately 3-4 hrs.

Over here there are about 34 outlets, brands like Coach, Banana Republic, Gap, Timberland, Guess, Polo Ralph Lauren etc. If you are travelling with tour agency, the tour guide will pass you a sticker which will entitle an additional 20% off  on top of the existing outlet discount (applies to certain shops only).
