We took a Tigerair domestic flight from Melbourne. It was a 2 hour flight. The airport was really a budget terminal. You can purchase a return airport transfer (Aud 38) from the transport counter at Gold Coast airport. The duration from airport to hotel is about 30-45mins as the bus will go hotel to hotel.
Is advisable to rent a car if more than 2 pax as the transport there is very expensive. If is first time there then it will be better to purchase the 3 days freedom pass (1 retn airport trf + unlimited theme park trf + unlimited bus ride = Aud 67)
Generally the transport per trip is about Aud3 onwards.
The people there are friend and in a relax lifestyle. Bus driver are ver willing to give direction and advise to every passenger. There is this incident that the driver simply stop the bus just to help to get rid of bee in the bus.

Shop at Gold Coast close 5pm Sun - Thur. Dinner wise is best to eat before 8pm as we went most restuarant at 8pm, their dinner are close :(

I will not advise just purely purchase the theme park transfer. Per theme park transfer per pax is Aud 21 (return) if we were to take public bus is only Aud 10 (return) per pax and the ride is only about 20-30mins.
